I'm half thinking of not going to this and just going to "main" orientation the following week? Is there really any need for me to go to this tomorrow and the following week?

    anyone going tomorrow?

Do go as it will give you a head start on all stuff you need to know like academic writing, referencing, etc , registering, campus tour and other stuff taht really isn't covered next week.

Did you attend the headstart maths last week?

yeah man I did the maths last week missed Monday and Tuesday tho due to Electric picnic tomfoolery!! It was really helpful and the tutors are dead on.

I'm going tomorrow I presume there will be 20+ , could even be up as much 40 . as I'm in the computers and app thing on wednesday also and that is limited to 40 students.

I think we get free lunch for the two days

I will travel up and down for a few months, then try find a share or bedsit, I' just treating it as a working day, I only have about 12 lectures and tutorials a week it seems so will spend the rest of my time in the library. I am really looking forward to it , I've wanted to go back to study for so long!!

So guess I'll see you tomorrow?

public transport...its like 40 euro for 10 journey ticket with bus eireann and and sure its only 15 or so euro for dublin bus, petrol would cost me well more than that.

its been 15 years since I did the leaving, have done work related courses etc but nothing like this.

what was the gig btw, did u hit EP last weekend?

I wasn't made aware of this. God DCU are really bad about informing their students of registration, fees, timetables etc etc. You kind of have to figure it all out for yourself.

I guessed I missed out on this. I did my degree in DCU so I kind of know my way around but would have liked to have met some mature students!

Planning to do the MSc Multimedia next year myself as a mature student with no leaving cert, so hoping work experience etc. will help with my application. It'll be interesting to see what you think of the course.
