I have heard of a situation whereby solar panels and geothermal can be integrated into the same system.....the solar panels 'dumping' hot water into the geothermal and thus reducing the esb requirements to run the geo system.....any advice?

Im not familiar with the setup your describing , im wondering are the two linked to an accumulator or buffer tank which acts a store of heated water from either source and the buffer then feeds the underfloor heating .

Ya as far as i know there is a shard tank feeding into the same system but heated by both methods....more research is needed....have you heard of it before?

I for one would be dubious of its benefits but if you were to dump the heat acheived in summer into a source in the ground that benefited the heat ground source in winter then why not. You could ask the Mod`s to move this post or repost in renewables. Also have a look at the Navitron forum as it`s a good source of people thinking outside the box.
