The driver theory test for car, motor cycle, bus and truck categories is to change next month.
Most of the 1,500 questions will be updated, revised or replaced from 24 October, 2011.
All candidates after this date will be required to sit the updated test.
It will feature new questions and graphics, as well as amended versions of existing questions.
The test will still use a multiple choice format and candidates will be required to answer 35 out of 40 questions correctly to obtain a pass certificate.
A new version of the learning materials for the theory test will be available from late September.
The Road Safety Authority said the changes are designed to ensure learner drivers are better prepared to embark on their on-road training.
The fee for the theory test and the price of the learning material remains unchanged.
