Switching colleges - Second year arts/Psychology

    Here's my story.
I'm a mature student and I want to study a degree program in Psychology and hopefully progress to a postgrad after that. I kind of set my sights on UCC and applied for Applied Psychology with Arts as my second choice. I didn't get into the Applied Psychology course and accepted an offer in arts.
My problem is that as it stands, I can study Psych in first arts but then only as a minor in second and third. That would leave me studying another subject as major (something I'm not terribly interested in doing tbh). I'm aware that UCC offer a "conversion" course into Psychology which is a two year postgrad and would leave me with a Hons degree in Psychology. But apparently that's quite hard to get into and also, it would mean 5 years to get to degree level Psych!

I've just learned of a course offered by WIT which is Psychology with arts and the difference being that it focuses on Psychology in second and third and after three years would award an hons degree (psi accredited) in Psychology.

Either way, as it stands, I'm doing first arts in UCC this year as I've got accom setup, deposits paid etc etc and I couldn't afford to do first year again in WIT next year as I wouldn't be entitled to a grant for fees again.

Does anyone know if it'd be possible for me to do first arts in UCC this year and then move into second year of the Psychology with arts course in WIT next year? Are external transfers in arts courses generally allowed? Anyone done it?

    Thanks
