I'll be 33 when I get married and considering using the excuse to get a bit of work done! I wouldn't do anything that would drastically change my appearance ie boob job, facelife, nose job etc but like the idea of botox for a few wrinkles and fillers (or whatever they use) for crows feet. NOT looking to start a debate on the moral side of plastic surgery but would love some advice from people who've been there done that- does it work? If you just get it done once do you look shocked and expressionless? Is it painful? Addictive? Expensive? Worth it? Advice welcome!! I already take good care of my skin and also intend to cut down on alcohol, increase water intake before wedding, but just looking for an extra boost!

well, i've had it done 4 times in the last 2 years for my frown lines in between my eyes, they were very prominent ! and I'd never look back.
If you do decide to go ahead with the procedure Id highly recommend a consultation with a qualified Dr. /nurse/ dentist that specialises in this area. I got mine done by a cosmetic surgeon from the UK.

Have the consultation first and they will recommend what type of procedure may benefit you. You may not need fillers if you do get the botox, as the botox relaxes the muscles therefore reducing the appearance of lines

As for botox making you look 'expressionless' there's always baby botox that only applies a tiny bit of the solution so it doesn't paralyse the muscles completely giving a more natural look.
If you are definitely interested in these procedures before your big day it would be best to start researching now . Best of luck :)

Thanks a mill. Does your skin eventually revert to the way it was or does it last?

yes my skin did revert back to the way it was unfortunately but after about 6-8 months and i got it done again, that's where the addictive side comes in!! :)
Must say though after getting the botox injections you wont see the results immediately, the real results come about 10-14 days after treatment.

You may get slight bruising also, but nothing a little concealer cant cover :)

For the money and results it's well worth the money imo :)

Love the idea of baby botox! Is that widely available or expensive? Let us know how you got on with your treatments detoxkid!

Pushki, do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm 31 and am recently noticing lines around my mouth. So annoyed because I never even smoked  Have been thinking about fillers.

I have Botox for my frown lines (above my nose). Have had it a couple of times now, and I love it. Has cheered me up no end because I no longer look so worried all the time. Had it done for my crow's feet the last time and it made feck all difference, so I won't be doing that again.

My latest fad is a skin tightening thing called Thermage (the 'non surgical face lift').

If I gave up smoking I would save myself a fortune. Damage is done now though.
