Laptop advice

Where is the best place to buy a decent laptop at a good price? What about buying one online?

I need to replace my laptop. All the shops seem to be pushing Dell, Lenovo or Acer. Would I be wise to stay away from these? I am aware of the Lenovo/IBM link. What is the best value most reliable brand these days?

I occasionally use Dreamweaver CS4 and Photoshop Elements 7. How would I transfer these programs from the old laptop to the new laptop.

Dell is the best value for money...Toshiba is good, it lasts for ages...

It is be a Toshiba I would be replacing and I would have absolutely no problem in doing so but I doubt I would chance a Dell, too much negativity about their quality.
