Change of price for booked trip?

    Hi All,

A friend booked a holiday on an internet site and paid a deposit and entered all her details etc. The remainder of the fee had to be paid 12 weeks before departure date.

She has just received an email from the company saying that they cannot confirm the booking as the hotel in question were looking for more money. They are demanding €98 more to confirm an already booked and confirmed trip.

    Just wondering is this legal?

Your friend should look at the contract to which they agreed. There may be a clause that allows the provider to alter the price. This is normally used to allow the provider to pass on costs related to an increase in fuel prices or change in exchange rates. It all depends on the wording in the contract.
