Hi I purchased this multi-media hardrive a few months back, it did seem like a bargain and had mixed reports, but mostly good.

But Im starting to have a few issues with it, mainly with the video playback.
firstly i find that sometimes the video audio-sync does be way out on some films, but this can be fixed by stopping and re starting the video sometimes.

But a bigger issue I have just noticed is that it doesn't seem to be playing the full length of the films and cut out maybe 10 or 20 minutes before the end. It seems to be happening to any films over 1 gb in size. Most the films would be xvid avi format, it is supposed to play divX but wont play them at all.

When i play the films on my pc or laptop there is no problem and they play right through to the end, as well playing the films from the hard drive connected to the laptop.

Any advice on this would be much apreciated.

Only thing I can think of is: do you have the latest firmware? maybe you have an early version?

I haven't yet updated the firmware, been trying to find where i can get the update but keep getting directed to their support page.
I had to leave a message there for their support team, so i'm awaiting them to get back to me for the moment

I received a mail back from them with a link to the latest firmware update, managed to install it ok but unfortunately the update didn't solve the problem. still have the very annoying problem of films cutting off 10 or 20 minutes before the end

I also bought the same media player. Do you know how to play movies that are in the MP4 format?

Not sure i haven't been able to play any mp4 movies and I haven't been able to play any Divix movies.

On a whole i'm very disappointed with the hard drive, Its not much good to watch movies on when they cut off before the end and which doesn't seem to support all the formats it is supposed to along with the audio video sync problems it has sometimes.

I've tried updating the firmware to no avail and there support team just told me to go back to the supplier to get a refund.

I suppose it does as a back-up hard drive and the kids have some of there shorter cartoons stored on it
