Can you buy Zovirax in shops or pharmacy only?

Just wondering the above as local pharmacy is closed and have cold sore coming on. Know you can buy bonjela over counter in shop but wondering if its same for zovirax.

I've only ever seen zovirax in pharmacies, damn nuisance those cold sores so they are!

It's licenced for pharmacy only. There's probably one pharmacy open in your area on a Sunday at least. I know the feeling, I started getting one in the US years ago and it hadn't been licenced there at all. Felt it would be less painful to cut my whole lip off.

You should buy Viralief it is the exact same active ingredient as Zovirax its cheaper and is made in Ireland. If you cant get any put an ice cube in a teat towel and apply to the area or placa a tea bag on the area (not joking).

Hi Op I feel your pain! Horrible things altogether.
Why dont you run out and pick up a pack of compeed patches? I know they sell them in my local supervalu and lots of shops stock them tbh I havent bothered with zoivrax since i discovered them. I think they are much better! Hope this helps:D

Pharmacy only but ask for cold sore cream made in Ireand- same ingredients and €3-4 cheaper. Think its called Virocept.

in answer to question, zovirax is only sold in pharmacy indeed. viralief is great but i cant find it in my pharmacies

good tip, if you head to mainland europe or turkey stock up on zovirax, its half the price....
