Try training first, they have there uses but you cant beat good old fashioned training and bonding with the dog...every pup will act the maggot. Where they can be great on a hard stubborn dog they can forever ruin a shy one. Be careful..

And please, please, OMG OMG (write in English even Irish or whatever other language you can speak, but for Gods sake no text speak)

i think they should be used in conjuction with a long lead and then phase out the lead,so that the dog thinks you can control him at any distance. in fairness e pointer will be the man for this question just take a look at his vids !!!!!!!!!

1st piece of kit I'd buy again if my shooting gear went up on flames.
If used sparingly & correctly will speed up Training immensely.
If a dog a gets ruined there's only one trigger happy person to blame...

Perfect. If I didn't have it the dog on the videos would be out of my kennels by now. He was wild. Since the I got him at 8 weeks he was wild. The collar has sorted him no end as he knows I have always got control. I rarely use it anymore but always keep it on him in case.

did you use it yard training or in the field at first

Field only wit a long lead to begin with. Reason being I'm training to the beep on the collar also. Before any correction I beep it not shock. V quickly he realizes beep means look back for direction etc. The lead is for steadiness.
Yard work for me is basic sit, stay retrieves etc before feeding. I move this work to the field v quickly once I feel the dog has the concepts as a obedient dog in the yard is not always the same in the field with all the distractions etc

I use PAC nDxt. Were selling around 200 at Birr.
Sure there are cheaper 1s around but this one works well up to 1km I believe plus you can add 2 or 3 dogs to the 1 remote. Battery life is good, as is after sale service
