have a nissan march 04 automatic and whenever it travels say 10-12 miles and heats up it slows down and doesnt respond to the accelerator. it will continue on slowly until given a few darts of the accelerator and go as normal until when taking off after slowing down to corner.

Hi Just read your post. I have the exact same problem with my Subaru Sambar mini van. It is an automatic as well which makes me think this is a gearbox problem. Did you find out what your problem was? Would appreciate any ideas!! Thanks

Recently i fixed my friends vw passat with 1.6 petrol engine, when heated up, became very sluggish and misfiring... no any warning signs on dash. Connected to computer, there were two faults... crankshaft speed sensor and lambda wasnt working right. After sourcing new parts and fitted, problem been solved.
You should do computer diagnostic, to see any sensor gone.

Well, they might if the fuel filter is full of twigs

Yeah, as someone who also drove an automatic, the transmissions are all computer controlled. If there's a problem they start off in 2nd which makes things very sluggish.

However, I would check the fuel system first, especially the easy things - air filter and injectors. The injectors can be checked with an multimeter on resistance settings. All 4 injectors should be close to the same readings. Can injectors be flushed and cleaned? I think they can...

Did you find out what the problem was with the Sambar? I have the same issue and all the essentials have been checked/changed as necessary (filters etc.)

    Thank you.
