Basically, I bought a printer, installed it on my laptop, all was well.
Laptop has since died, bought a new one, but have lost the disc with the software for the printer.

Is there anywhere to download software like that for free? The printer was only used 3 or 4 times maybe before my laptop died.

    Thanks! :)

Locate the Model no of the printer, usually displayed on the front of it.

Go to the manufacturers website via google.

    Navigate to the support section.

    Enter model no.

    Navigate to Drivers and Downloads.

And download and execute the relevant software for your new laptop.

This is the page where you select your operating system and language to download.

    http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/eu/eu_ot/en/dlf/download_top.html?reg=eu&c=eu_ot&lang=en&prod=dcp195c_all

Click on this and select your os and language and then it should download.

I think this is for the dpc 195c but if it is not close enough then try again from the Brother website. here

Yeh i did that but no luck?

Like its downloaded to my new laptop, but nothing happens.

It says to decompress the file, which i do, it then says file decompressed succesfully, then nada!

Anyone know where i go from there?

there is normally an executable file (.exe) that decompresses, if you can find where the files have extracted to it should be in there.

If you can't find it re-download it and when it come to the point of straction there is an option to "extract to" and pick a folder or the desktop and extract it to there and you should see the file

never mind gave it a go there and the screen that comes up when you decompress shows a location where the file extracts to make a note of it and it should be in there

or click browse and stick in any folder / location you like after that just double click on the file and it should install
    bingo (i hope)
