Specifically, Leeson Street? I'm going to be working in that area. Some friends are moving to Dundrum soon, and I need to know if I should find somewhere closer to the city. I know the Luas could get in there in about 20 minutes, but how long would it take after that?

Not sure if you are working on Lesson street upper or lower but if you get off at charlemount stop on the canal it is a 5 min walk to Leeson st upper - dundrum would be excellent. You could also cycle in relatively quickly - around 15 mins in a car from Leeson street to dundrum (with no traffic!).

Luas + Dublin Bikes (stations at Charlemount and at Lower & upper ends of Leeson St) will get you there in no time at all. :)

    Buses:

The 44 stops at the bottom of Leeson Street (Earlsfort Terrace) and travels to Dundrum.

The 61 also passes Earlsfort Terrace and will take you to the Dundrum Luas Bridge.

The 14 also does the journey, but takes a much longer route than the 44 and 61.

The journey time for the 44 or 61 would be about 25/30 minutes.

Average waiting time at peak hours would be 2 minutes + 12 minute ride + 5 minute walk to Leeson St = max 20 minute commute.
