That wouldn't bother me if it checks out ok. I think it's over priced and I believe I spotted it a few times underground in the Beacon hospital

The Legacy there has 44.000 miles. I'm looking for something around 25-ish.
Also, I had a look at the Alfa a while back. Nice looking car.

Yeah, I'm looking for something with a warranty though.

I cant believe you are considering that sportage, before I clicked on the link, I thought it would be the new one which is not bad but that thing is ugly.

I still think that for what you are looking for the Alfa 159 that I linked in another thread would be your best option. Our one came with a three year warranty so that one listed still has the guts of two years left on it. That black one is also well specced and has a very low mileage.

The only thing against it in my view is the relatively high tax of €445 a year.

Right, I admit its not the best looking 4x4, but €15500 for a 2010. Had 2 before (company cars). I'm REALLY considering that Impreza.....

Impreza or Legacy look great and they are rare enough. My mother in law has a Tuscon and its an awful yoke to drive. I was just shocked at your choice of nice cars and then a 2 seater jeep at the end of it..:)

What do you mean by "shocked" ? I know they're not the best choice. Personally, I'd rather a big petrol engine. But to be honest, I'm only going to
go back to the Impreza, Legacy or Nitro. Although, I was just looking at the new Honda Legend.

Impreza for me, but the interiors seriously low rent. Engine and transmission aren't though and decent spec. Plus that paint looks really well in the sunlight. Pictures don't do it justice.

Legacy, Citroen, Accord, Impreza, Peugeot with the two 4WD's a very distant last. I honestly don't believe that if you bought the Nitro you'd ever get rid of it.

    I'd have a 159 though.

Yeah I must say, the 159's look nice. Are the new 159's reliable ?

A Honda legend is a fine car but they are serious money new...

To be honest I don't really like the look of the KIA. Its just, cheap and a commercial would be handy for me. And the Honda, I'd just afford a 06 if I really wanted one. I drove my Dads Legend once. He taxi's his and puts €60 into it a night.

Go down to your local Renault garage and test drive the grand megane.
Your budget will get you a dynamique model 1.5 dci with metallic and an unlimited mileage 5 year warranty.

I have mine 4 months now, best choice I made. I had looked at 08 and 09 estates for the same money, but after the long test drive's I was sold on the megane. They are excellent cars.

€104 tax pa and I am getting 1,200 to 1,400 km's per tank.

I would not be prepared to pay an extra €2k just because the other one has 20k less miles on it. At the end of the day a 09 diesel car is now almost 3 years old, they are bound to have been driven a bit.

A second hand, low mileage modern diesel can have it's own problems especially if it has a dpf.

That one's poverty spec. It even has the hubcaps which look like alloys but actually aren't.

I'd choose the Legacy by a country mile out of all the cars you have linked. A very underrated car.

Yes it may not have the alloys but it has leather and climate control something that is rare on Irish spec cars. If the OP is put off by that they can be changed. I certainly wouldn't be ingnoring a car with as low mileage and as new as that Alfa because of its lack of alloy wheels.

OP as for reliability my old man bought a 159 Sportwagon very similar to that one with the same engine about 8 months ago. So far its been excellent, it has the leather interior which is a must btw! The car has 31k on km on it now and no problems at all. Still on original tyres, brake pads etc.

We were recommended to change the oil every 15k km though.

The engine is the 8v 120bhp and to be honest its enough for the car and it cruises well at 120km/h. My father ended up getting the engine chipped up to 150 brake and it makes a difference. Cost €350 and didn't void the 3 year Alfa warranty.

    Anything else just pm me

I had a Alfa 159 Diesel 150BHP and they suffer from steering rack failures and eat front tyres and have dpf issues I changed to a Subaru impreza diesel far better machine but cabin not as nice as Alfa do
