When I try to download new mail the phone will tell me that it is downloading mail 1 of 2,3,4 and so on when suddenly it stops and nothing downloads. I've accessed the mail on my PC and it downloaded fine. Has this happened anybody else and if so how did you fix it?

Happened me before too, turned out my trash was full! Doesn't affect desktop but the iPhone won't download more mail after something like 50 messages in the trash. I could be totally off the mark but no harm giving it a try!

Funnily enough when I went to the trash on my iPhone it contained the mails that wouldn't download onto my phone but downloaded on my PC before I moved them to the trash. Very odd. I tried what you said, doesn't appear to have worked yet but let's see.

Haha wouldn't go that far but thanks! :p

Just empty trash every now and again and it should be fine.

Trash empty? Try emptying your bulk mail too it's usually rubbish in there.

Had the trash empty and no no joy, but it's working again. The phone just needs a kick in the arse I think. Went on to the support forums on apples own website, it's a very common occurrence with seemingly no definitive answer. Most unusual. Thanks for your suggestions.
