I'm not sure how things work in the Geography Dept., but maybe you should email the coordinators of the modules you're interested in. Maybe they can still fit you in.

Assuming your talking about 2nd Year Geography, here's what they said by email a while ago:
There may be scope to allow in a small number of extra students onto modules after these fill up, but there will be only limited scope to do so; the Department reserves the right to make a decision on what students to allow into a "fully subscribed"/"capped" module and notes that such decisions will be made on the basis of exceptional personal circumstances and marks in the previous year of Geography studies. Such decisions will be made following an "appeals process" in the second week of Semester 1/Semester 2 (details of which will be made available at the first meeting of the class on the first day of term) and this process will only relate to modules being taught in that semester (i.e. there is no appeals process for capped Semster 2 modules at the start of Semester 1) - in the meantime, students who cannot sign up for their first choice module are advised to sign up for their next choice module in the expectation that they may need to carry on with this choice (while also attendign lectures in the module they would like to transfer in to in the hope that appeals might be successful). Of course, as students transfer out of a "capped" module in the first week or so of a semester, it may well be the case that

Register for something else for now and then appeal to the geography department. It's quite likely that someone will drop out of that class eventually and free up some space. They look at your attendance record and exam results when deciding to admit you to the class if no one drops out so you could still get in now. Email your year head and see what they say!

Kinski do you mean the second year head or the lecturer for that module?

I really wouldn't worry about it too much. There will be a lot of "shopping" around with modules for the first two weeks. I'd appeal it, and just keep checking whether any space becomes available in it. Go to the lectures for that module anyway - might turn out not to be what you were expecting or might help you to as why you want to ,do it and help you in appealing it. From personal experience, I found that the modules I felt least interested in turned out to be my best.

Really no need to be worrying. Good Luck.:)
