    Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea's as to why my wiper's would stop working.I assumed it was just a fuse ,but I've tested the fuses with a multimeter and none of them seem to be blown.TBH I'm not certain if I've even tested the right fuses though, service manual says there located just under the steering wheel.

Also,at roughly the same time that the wiper's stopped working the air conditioning kinda broke,It now only works on the the highest speed.Don't know if that's related or not.

My dad reckons It's probably the wiper motor that's gone.Could he be right? If so how do i check the motor?

This is a VERY common problem with puntos. One of the joints in the wiper linkage is probably gone. If you pop the bonnet and have a look at the linkage that moves the wipers, you will probably see one of the joints popped off. Think it cost me €200 to get my linkage replaced. The motor and linkage all comes as a kit. You can't just get the linkage on it's own (or at least I couldn't!!).

Now that I think about it, you should be able to see the motor turning too, so you should be able to rule that out as well. Let us know how you get on.

Just had a look there now,

The linkage seems fine( no missing parts as far as i can tell) and when i tried the wiper's I couldn't see any movement at all, just a clicking sound!!

Anything else i can check ?

    Just thought I'd update this.

Turns out the wiper motor was knackered.Got a second hand one from Summerhill spares for 45 quid and fitted it.Wipers are working again, happy days :D
