UPC remote control problem

Self-installed UPC broadband, phone and digital TV last night and everything was going fine until it came to using the remote to set up the TV. New batteries in the remote and the red light around UPC flashes when keys are pressed but no input is being received to the STB.

Anyone have experience with a similar issue before? Anything I can try to fix it?

Can select the country on the STB, but can't figure out how to set the region code without the remote - frustrating as I was looking forward to some early morning rugby this weekend! Is there a way?

Everything else seemed to be fine last night, getting a strong broadband signal.

Don't have the model number of the STB in front of me but it's a brand new Digital+ mediabox. Remote is the standard black UPC one.

    Thanks in advance.

Missus had the exact same problem last week. Turned out she had pressed the TV button beside the UPC button and was trying to change the stb but communicating with the tv.
Sounds too simplistic for your issue but you never know !

Thanks for suggestion, but nope, not the TV button (that flashes red instead of UPC one on button pushes after it's been selected). Seems like a dodgy remote alright...

If I use a remote from another connection (different building) will it work with my stb or are they paired?

Mine operate all of the boxes (have both HD and SD) so they don't seem paired

Sorted, well kinda. Definitely a dodgy remote, used another one from mates place to set up the box and now at least I can operate the channels from the box. UPC couriering a new one on Monday, next chat is going to be about the quality of the image because I'm less than impressed with the amount of noise on the picture...

If you leave the leave the batteries out for sometime it will reset the remote.
