Could be early stage dual mass flywheel problem...

Had a diesel golf that use to shake a little, like a shiver. Thought it might be the flywheel, but wasnt a big issue - drove it for another 2 years without incident. Shake stayed the same. Maybe engine mounts worth a look.

Its a Sep O7 version with 110k miles clocked up.

Hope it's not a flywheel problem, however it's a possibility.

Checked engine mounts, they are fine. Cheers!

Had the same issue with a 2000 Bora, shake was constant though.. The shake in the Audi only occurs when the engine is warm. That's turning me away from it being anything to do with the fuel pump?

Changing the loom as the next step doesn't make any sense at all.

You should fully diagnose all componants first and also check for simpler things like air leaks, loose connections etc.

Try a new set of sparkplugs, could be as simple as that.

I'd say it would be too much hassle to remove the diesel engine, source and fit a petrol engine and then try a set of spark plugs.:P

    More relevent info might help,

What exact engine is it? What have you checked/diagnosed so far and when you say you 'flushed' out the injectors, what exactly does that mean? Did you put some stuff in the fuel or have them removed and properly cleaned/tested?

I wonder is this model common rail or the unit injectors? If its common rail try do a leak back test and compare the 4 of the results. Before I'd even do that I'd try get up some fault codes.

I had this problem in the past on a diesel golf, it was the alternator ratchet or so my mechanic told me.
He replaced it at the same time as a timing-belt no problems after.

No not a mistake, has 110,000 miles on it now and was serviced at 99,000 miles

Dude... you said it was serviced 99,000 miles ago.
So it was services 11,000 miles ago, not 99k
