Is there anyway I can go in and get a new student card before the semester starts? I lost my old one (which was out of date anyway) and would like to get a new one asap and start getting student discounts again.

I would use my one from France but it doesn't look legit, it's my passport pic pritsticked to a white card and it says I'm from Bublin :pac:

I got one in the middle of summer so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't give you it once you have registered

However, *serious hat on* this is the worst time to be trying to get something like that as registration has already started! So I'm not sure you'd be able to just pop in and get one. And if you do you have to come visit me :P

The girl at the student records desk in Fees and Grants can print one off anytime for €20. Costs €40 for a replacement in NUIG apparently!

I understand having some sort of basic fee to cover the cost but 40 euro for a piece of plastic? Worst is DCU who charge you 7 euro a pop for a set of transcripts, keep having to get them for applications for funding, etc, and it's a disgrace, must cost about 10c to print the things.

Register, go to student records and get a new card for frees.
Happened to me last year and got a lovely "International" after my degree title.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I know I lost my card but I would have needed a new one anyway as this is now out of date. Will I have to buy a new card or will they just give it to me for freeeeee?

Does anyone know if you can get a free new student card if you change degrees?

Just I've changed from Arts to CSSE.. and I think it'll be 'out of date' before my degree is finished.. also, I dislike the picture and want a card that doesn't have Arts written on it :P

Yeah you should, if you're registering for a different course.

I was able to do that when I transferred to law! Just hand in your old card and you'll get a new one with you new degree on it! You won't be able to take a new pic though!
