I'd love to...but I would be afraid they would tell me something I don't want to hear!

Yep. They told me you'd make this post. And the person who posted after me would die tragically within a week.

Psychics are just good at reading people, and I don't mean their futures. When you consider they might meet 100 people a day they're bound to be able to pick up on subtleties such as posture, how people are dressed, tone and inflection in customers voices when they answer a set of questions. "Did you have someone pass away" , "yes" and your eyes well up means you did, they were close and it was recent. They're very good at picking up cues. Anyone that goes to see a psychic wants to believe deep down, otherwise you wouldn't waste your money, so they will answer questions and it's the way that they answer them that feeds the performer.

No such thing as a psychic so can't really go and see one.

No, instead i just threw my money down the toilet and flushed, i got more value out of that instead.

Sometimes they are scarily accurate though!

I met a physics teacher once...

I find girls tend to sway towards psychics a lot more than guys do. My ex was convinced int the authenticity because they gave her a few letters of a person who they would be with. Which turned out to be me and the letters lined up. Maybe she just refused to go out with anyone whos name didn't line up though :pac:.

Yeah I think, in my experience, it's been exclusively women i've known to go to psychics. I've never heard of a man doing it.

Here's a nice video showing how these scamsters work!

I prefer to put my money behind a bar counter!

Aye I reckon I did. Barman are very good at seeing the future.

Only last Friday I staggered into the tenth pub of the evening, threw a twenty on the counter and said "Oy, beardy, pint of Carlsberg and a large Paddy before I die of old age!".

He turned to me and said "I can see you getting thrown out of here soon enough".

    Lo and behold.................

    I did. Was pointless.

If she said "I see disappointment in your near future" then she might've been pointless, but accurate!

I went to see one a couple of weeks ago.

She told me I'd enter into a love triangle between my current girlfriend and someone else, and that I'd have one of them pregnant within a year.

And I'd be stabbed in the gut sometime around November.

    Pretty specific stuff.

    I await with bated breath.

Bring your girlfriend to the same psychic. If the psychic says "You will stab someone in November" dump that b*tch!

You'd be surprised how true this could be.

This is the dangerous aspect of psychics: for example, they read that you're planning to move to Oz (based on something they've picked up off you...so this is accurate) and that you'll encounter a great fortune there (this is complete BS). Woah betide because they were right with A, the mark believes that B must also be true and packs up their life expecting said fortune to magically appear one day.

They prey on reading your hopes then telling you favourable consequences. This gets more dangerous as it also builds a reliance on the psychic and can become an addiction. A costly one too.

Now take your girlfriend. While it's unlikely she deliberately went out and sought a guy with that sequence of letters (and if she did, she's a nutcase, so run fast), she could put a false significance on a guy who does have those letters. In other words, she believes its 'fate' when, in reality, she could be making a massive misjudgement based on this delusional pretence.

I'm sure you're a perfectly nice guy, though!

    I went to one

Im not one for believing all that hocus pokus but My mate said no way this guy is amazing, Like he can tell you crazy stuff that there is no way he could know.
Supposedly he was able to tell my mate about his girlfriend how many kids he had their kids names, where he lived, his dead grand parents names and all this.
So i said to myself well ill go, Im agnostic so maybe it would give me a little more belief in their being something out their after death.

    Went along............ Called In..............

    Fairly random crap..........
    Your work is going well...............
I see a holiday for you and travelling............
Money is tight at the moment but i see this changing in 1 year.........
Your other half is stressed she should take things handy..........

Would of been better off reading the star signs in the Daily Mirror

When some says "I went to see a psychic". I think thanks, It would have taken me a bit longer to figure out you are a bit challenged. And then they wonder why I often start drifting away in conversations and not paying attention to them in general, but how could someone who thought that someone could see the future have anything worthwhile to say... ;)

Nope, never been to one. I don't believe in a determinate future.

I have two friends that went to psychics, both not believing in them, just doing it for the laugh.

Friend 1: Had a psychic at her engagement party, so she took off her ring, went over to the psychic and had a good auld laugh at how wrong the psychic was saying: You are lonely now but you'll find the love of your life on a beach in another country when you least expect it. She thought nothing of it but was divorced and on holidays just a few short years later where she met the man she has now settled down and had kids with. As a result of this coincidence she now believes in psychics and tries to organise parties with one all the time!

Friend 2: Went in and listened while the psychic assured her that although her parents were arguing at the moment, it will all be okay, they'll make up and live happily ever after. Which is impossible since her mother died when she was a baby.
