I know I am behind the times on my operating system, but does anybody have any views on what I should do.

I currently run Leopard OS X 10.5.8 but need to upgrade to Snow Leopard to install new software. Should I at the same time buy the download to upgrade to Lion. Does anybody have any opinion?

    Thanks

Does your system support Lion? How much RAM do you have?

Lion is still fairly new and there might issues with certain third party software. You should check and make sure that everything you need will still work.

    I currently have 2GB RAM.

Think I will buy Snow leopard CD from Apple, it's only about €30, and install & use that operating system for the time being.

And then look at Lion in the future.

Remember that Snow Leopard will only run on an Intel CPU. It won't work on G5 iMacs or PowerMacs. Just mentioning this as you don't say what hardware you're using.

Thanks. It is an iMac8,1 & runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, so think I will be ok.
