Any lurcher men here that wish to have, chit chat and share info on their dogs?
Last one I had I was about twelve, then the gun/rifle took over.
I recently acquired a saluki hound that was not looked after.
Well I got her, fed her up and excercised her and the rifle could stay where it is, much more enjoyable with the hound.
I probably would have never got out of them only for me mammy lol well I have flew the coop the last few years and going strong.
Was out tonight with a good lurcher man I was actually about to feed the dog (Breeda) when he rang, it was too calm and bright, got out it poured rain, had two chances both missed, Was the fault of the men not the dogs:o

    Keep at it.
Hunting with hounds, lurchers and terriers is a lot more challenging than the aul gun alright - a lot of disappointments but the rewards are far greater.

I just joined as i noticed someone had started a thread.

Much prefer dog to guns, just getting ready to take my 1 1/2 year old soon for his first proper try.

I just have the one right now, and he's still learning but know he will turn out good for rabbits at least.

I have a collie/deerhound/greyhound cross. Shes gettin on, 9/10 now, no interest in foxes anymore but still a demon on rabbits, can turn on a sixpence :)

Bring her out stalking as my deer dog now, suits her down to a tee :)

It depends on who I am out with, usually with one of the foxing lads, the odd time on the rabbit and if I am alone probably just looking for a rabbit to feed the ferret but if I come on a fox I'll take that too.
