    Lo all,
Looking for a cheap bluetooth dongle. Looking at http://www.shop4memory.com/products/bluetooth-adapter.asp but not sure which ones are compatible with Windows 7.

Looking for one that's about €10, and the shop takes paypal or laser card, and delivers for free (or is located nearby Leixlip where I can collect it). Also, I'm looking for "brand" name, that has drivers and decent software, and thus not something from Dealextreme, etc. Have an old dongle, but the software won't install (drivers are for win2k and 9x )

It'll be used to connect to a HP Touchpad.

The cheap 3 euro tiny dongle linked in the thread above will install drivers automatically under modern OS XP/Vista/7 etc and presumeably OS X and all, got one for my Dad and Windows 7 picked it up right away, Vista and 7 and XP to an extent have a good bluetooth application which allows one button contacts sync, file browsing etc for most phones, also a button to use phone as a modem iirc. I think you'd be mad to pay €10 up for a Bluetooth adapter, not unless you need a high speed one and afaik they are even more costly (bluetooth 3.0)

Already have a cheapo bluetooth dongle that Windows 7 installs drivers for, but as it has no software with it (well, none that installs on Windows 7), thus I can't pair it with devices :(

And €10 is about the max I'll pay.

What are you trying to pair with it? Windows 7 has a bluetooth control center which gives a range of options, such as phone as modem, contacts backup/sync etc. Some devices such as phones need their own drivers to work with a bluetooth adapter, so maybe thats the problem you are facing? Also if you are trying to pair a laptop/pc to an iphone, dont bother. Apple like to control the bluetooth useage, and block any use of bluetooth except for headsets-that kind of stuff
