I have a number of young apple trees & 1 old tree (>30 years) in the garden, The young trees gave a fantastic crop of apples this year. The old tree has literaly about 100 apples on it but theyre all tiny. The tree has never had much care. Was here before we moved in. Is this tree past it's sell by date or could I cut it back & see if it does better next year. Any ideas?.

    T.

firewood, or great for smoking meat with:)
you really should be pruning your apple trees yearly (Jan) and if this one has not had much love for the last 30 years then its probably to late, especially if you have more that are producing fruit.IMHO without seeing it: scrub it and plant a new one
