Well done lads, what if the OP was having problems with Chrome; advise her to Install Opera?

OP, right-click on the Tabs/Address bar and uncheck the "Show tabs on separate row" option.

If you really hate IE9 that much you can revert back to IE8 by following the instructions here although I recommend you don't do this. Always best to stick with the latest browser, you'll get used to it quickly enough

Its a completely new design for IE and should be more secure and faster. It is definately better than the last one even though it might take getting used to. Security updates for the version you had will stop soon so its not a good idea to go back to it. If you really don't like the new version switch to another browser like Chrome.

Surely Chrome is the very reason IE9 looks the way it does? It makes no sense to tell the OP to switch to another browser with a minimalist interface which is even more different to IE8 than IE9 is.

firstly Chrome is a crap browser, mainly due to it being a spyware for Google to use to learn everything about you. As its open source, there are better alternatives that look the same but are not spyware, these are:
    Chromium
    SRIron
for some reason Google Chrome is becoming a go on an on about thing like Macs are to some users. It doesn't help OP to change to Chrome if they want to stick to IE, and tbh if I had to offer of using google Chrome or IE9 only, I'd prob stick to the Microsoft one...

Every Chrome has a serial number, Google spy on you and take note of every link you click. Chromium is Chrome without Google spying (course if you're signed into Google in any browser they will know what you search for and link it to your Google account)

Sorry to tell you that you as a person are of no interest to Google. General trends are useful, individual data is worthless.

Maybe so, but if Microsoft did this with Windows, would you be saying the same thing? Probably not.
