this might be a silly question but i genuinely dont know anything about this situation. i am signing off jsa as i am starting a job, but i cant find my p45 from my previous job, which finished april 2010. i know i would have given a portion of it to the solical welfare office when starting my claim, but its nearly a year and a half ago and i cant remember for the life of me where the rest is, and its not with all my other forms that i am usually good at keeping together. just wondering what i could do to try and get off emergency tax as soon as i can?

Contact your previous employer they should still have a copy of your P45, if not then your Social Welfare Local Office should have a copy of it on your file.

the P45 is no good for this year as it relates to 2010.

to get off emergency tax get your new employers tax no. this should be on your most recent payslip and then phone up the revenue and tell them you started working there and a new tax card should be sent out.

also if your employer is registered on ros they can do it themselfs
