    Hello,

I am looking for insruance cover for a 22 year old with no prior driving experiance.

Most websites wont even quote me as I have no experience and the one that did (quinn) wanted 3500 euro for a 1l polo!

So what do you guys reccomend for insurance that wont starve me to pay? I know I will have a high premium for the first year anyway but surely 3500 euro is taking the micky?

I reckon you're looking at the guts of 2k anyway, but yeah 3.5 is a little OTT.

Start ringing people tomorrow, you can't haggle with online quote systems.

Don't bother with online quotes for a start.

Ring Pat Britton in donegal. They are a broker for asgard insurance. My 22 year old brother got ~€1000 3rd party on a 1.2. His own policy. First car, no experience, no ncb.

Pick up the phonebook and ring everyone you see.. have a page with all your details on them so you can just rattle them off.

Also try put a parent (your mam if possible) on your insurance as named driver. They tend to bring down the cost. My Girlfriend even though she has less exp than me brings mine down around 150 euro

As has already been said, just start calling companies and brokers tomorrow. The online things are rubbish, particularly if you're young.
Insurance costs vary depending on all sorts of things besides age, so some companies who might do a good deal for one person of similar age may do worse for you etc, or the other way around
