I had this problem the day before yesterday. It worked fine in the past. But iTunes was really really slow, I figured it was the server

In iTunes: Edit/Preferences and the first tab is 'General' which is where you need to be.....

in the lower part of the screen there is a Section entitled 'When you insert a CD:'

within which there is an option...

Automatically Retrieve CD Track Names from Internet

Make sure this is ticked and you are online when you import the CD..
