Designjet 1050C - faulty printhead problem

    Hi guys,
I recently got a HP Designjet 1050C plotter and I have a problem with the black printhead: the printer says it's faulty (it's a HP No. 80 C4820A printhead).
I got the printer like that and I don't want to spend 130 euro on a new one if I'm not sure that this will solve the problem, because without this printhead it won't let me even print anything in colour.

Is there any way to check if the printhead is really faulty or if it's a printer issue?

When I take it out and put it back in the printer says that it is OK, but then it slides over, does some more testing and it comes out faulty.
