Vaseline every time, runs the sweat down the side, away from the eyes.

I bought one of those. Never had the heart to wear it though. Look like a pale Geordie La Forge.

I wear a headband for almost all of my runs.

Its awful 20 miles into an LSR having to deal with stinging eyes.

Instead you could permanently balance a pair of shades on your head ... oh, hang on ...

I find I've no sweat left long before that stage, maybe that's me not hydrating properly.

I do actually wear them (over my eyes) sometimes. National Half marathon when it started pissing rain, they were invaluable, when the rain was stinging my eyes. The other night when running 600m intervals at 5k pace in storm-like conditions, I really missed them. I was blinded by the rain and debris.

I have recently started using one of these also. I wear contact lenses when running and was really suffering with salty sweat but this solves the problem perfectly. Have used it cycling too.

I've been wearing a running cap for years (most recently a Nike Daybreak Cap - available at Runways), mainly to absorb sweat before it stings my eyes. The peak also helps reduce sun glare and block some rain.

I recently bought a visor (now discontinued). I get more air at my hair now. CRC has a number of other visors.
