Trouble getting immunisation records

I'm an incoming UCC undergraduate med student.

I'm required to undergo a health screening process, but I've been having problems getting my immunisation records from when I was a baby.

I lived in Galway until I was two,and then I moved to Waterford. I cant obtain the records from being in Galway(MMR and BCG shots i think).

I called the hospital where I was born, but they passed me onto a clinic which had no immunisation records of mine. Apparently they didnt start holding onto them until '95. I haven't a clue who my GP was back then or where I got the vaccinations.

My local GP and health office in Waterford have no records from then either.

Anyone else in a similar position?Any advice would be very appreciated.:)

(P.S: I know that the BCG shot date isnt necessary if you have the scar, but mine isnt apparent.I'm pretty certain I got it though.)

    Howdy!

Yeah I was kinda the same, I got all the vaccines they had in school and promptly lost every single immunisation record :pac:

I've always lived in the same place so this might not apply to you, but I rang up the HSE who put me through to the immunisations office for my area, and they're gonna retrieve my paper records. They won't have them til October though.

I reckon though, even if you systematically unearthed every single copy of your immunisation record and incinerated them, any vaccines you have gotten will show up in your blood test. :pac:

And that's a record you can't lose

    See ya Wednesday sham :pac:

That's probably true about the blood test :pac:

I got it sorted anyways- went back to the GP. She found the BCG scar(just about). I had a record for a MMR check up in waterford,so that pretty much confirms I got the original MMR.

It's all good  Thanks for the reply though!:)

    I guess I'll see ya in UCC:D
