    Or trio.

Basically we're looking for a well capable trio or quartet of string musicans to play during the reception of a charity dinner in Ennistymon, Co. Clare. Our budget is quite small but we'd be happy to advertise on our site (and facebook and twitter) before hand as well as in our programme (its a full weekend programme).

    Date: Sunday 6th of November.

Either for one hour from 7-8 or one hour from 9.30 to 10.30 (or both, depending on price).

While the dinner is on we have entertainment upstairs (for those attending the weekend but not the dinner).

The event is the Irish Discworld Convention if that sways anyone.

    Thanks.

    Hi Nicowa,

You could try experienced amateur Dolmen String Quartet based in Limerick.

There used to be highly regarded Romanian Contempo Quartet in Galway.
This was probably the best classical string quartet based in Ireland. Not sure if this quartet would perform as a background music ensemble.

"Well capable" (professional?) quartet is probably not at the requested area. If yes please let us know.

You might ask very good local band/group performing traditional music. This might be better option than betting on "not capable" quartet.

If you are dying to listen to classical music you would be safe to put on some CD on quality PA.

    Anyway good luck!

Unfortunatly "well capable" and "small budget" don't go hand in hand when you are talking about this sort of thing.

Your best bet would be to go searching for wedding string quartets. Can't see you getting any for less than 400/500 + mileage (depending on where they are coming from.)
