Hey guys I'm going to the states next month and I'm thinkin of buying the R11 driver as it's much cheaper over there. I'm just wondering what the story with bringing it back home will I be taxed on it or is there any way around paying tax??

Think it probably depends on whether customs stop you at the airport...

If you are bringing all your clubs over just throw it in the golf bag and you will be fine.

If its a club on its own you could well be stopped. Would you not buy it online if its cheaper?

If your bringing your own clubs then just throw it in the bag and you'll be fine. If its just one club on its own you are bringing back, post it home via USPS while you are over there.

An idea for you.......take the head off it and put it in your check in bag and if stopped just say you bought a shaft for your broken R11 at home!!

Just out of curiosity how much cheaper are they there?
Will be heading over myself in november and may buy something if the saving is worth the hassle

I have brought clubs back on a few ocassions, both in their boxes and in my own golf bag and have never been stopped, but I could have just been lucky. The arrival time of your flight would also be a factor - if it's middle of the day it would be difficult for customs to pin-point you were coming from the states as opposed to the EU where you could bring clubs back freely (i think), whereas if you arrive in at 5:30am then you might be more likely to be stopped

400 dollars new there for stock or 500 for the TP, 340 here or 390 TP, not big saving at all
