After searching the internet for hours I have come up with no answer. I am currently doing a radio project for 4th year and our project is to repart about the ticket prices for rugby, soccer and GAA.

This is a piece that i copied from a thread that has been banned.
Personally i think it is very mean of this forum to not allow what seems to me to be a perfect reasnable question from a student.
I am quite sure that there are lots of forum members who attend soccor and rugby matches and i would in the past have attended soccor matches on a regular basis.
There may be a very simple reason for this and then again i may also get banned but if this is the kinda stuff that is going on it won't bother me.

    Many thanks

I thought the thread lock came a bit early also, but in saying that I would've thought the post was more appropriate to the Soccer forum

could have been handled better, but he was looking for prices for soccer games. you wont get the smae info for that on a gaa board as a soccer board. simple logic to be honest.

The person in question said they were doing an excercise on gaa soccor and rugby and that he had trawled the internet, we can only assume that they are exploring all other avenues but as this is the forum i chose to use i feel it my responsibility to show it's weakness.
I do not agree that there is any better place than another to source relevent information, the only thing that matters is that it is correct.
However the fact remains they will get no information from that perticular thread.

    Thanks

The person in question, was asking for ticket prices for the FAI, and you dont think the Soccer forum was more appropriate?

Regardless of people in this forum who attend rubgy gaa and soccer matches. You still dont think the Soccer forum was more appropriate for a soccer pricing question ??

    The mind boggles.

And it has nothing to do with any Anti soccer GAA bias btw if thats what you are inferring to.

You should read my post before you reply what i said was that all organizations were appropiate to ask the question of and all appropiate forums may be able to supply the relevent information but our forum chooses to ban the question but we agree on one thing.

google is the appropriate place for such things as Soccer ticket prices more than a GAA fourm

so, heres a google search of fai ticket prices limiting the search to the independent newspaper - with a timeline for results from each year.
    http://www.google.de/search?q=fai+ticket+prices+site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.independent.ie%2F&hl=en&num=10&lr=&ft=i&cr=&safe=images&tbs=#q=fai+ticket+prices+site:http://www.independent.ie/&hl=en&lr=&prmd=ivns&source=lnt&tbs=tl:1&sa=X&ei=sYloToSSLrHT4QTGlO3FDA&ved=0CAcQpwUoAQ&fp=1&biw=1680&bih=949&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&cad=b

EDIT: seeing as its a research project, you can sieve through all those articles for results!!

No, just no. Your trying to make this into an Anti Soccer thing. Thats the only clear thing that has come from your posts. This forum is everything but anti-soccer.

The lads question was about soccer prices. And due to the FACT that the soccer forum is brimmed with the soccer paying public, thats exactly where the question should have been. This forum may or may not have a handful of soccer attendees who can answer the lads question. He would get a better response over there (and you know that)

I dont see what your issue is bar making an issue out of nothing.

I hate when people try to drag something down to the lowest common denominator, unnecessary

I locked that particular thread as it was spam. I had a nice chat with the poster by personal message. The original poster is new here and tried to delete his own thread when he realised this is the wrong forum, the soccer forum is the correct forum. To gain access to the soccer forum one has to be over a certain post count, and vetted by the soccer forum mods. I locked that thread, so the original poster would have an extra post on his post count, for when he tried to gain access to the soccer forum. Had I deleted it and banned the poster, which is the normal practice, the poster would have one less post and a ban on his record could jeopardise his access to the soccer forum, which he really wants.

Anyway, this is a GAA forum, not a soccer forum. And conducting surveys through this website is frowned upon and always has been. Hopefully I've explained things for you.
