I have been a in a I.T engineer role for 10 years and done the usual Microsoft and firewall/virtualisation exams that go with it. I want to move from this area as although I like I.T the break fix role is a jack of all trades master of none in my humble opinion. I am thinking about moving into a technical sales role but am unsure especially due to the current climate. I am very interested to hear from anybody in the technical side of I.T that has made the move to Technical sales.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Mick. Thats a good point. I have spent the last few months specialising in an area outside of work but I am feeling although I can get by as an engineer I don't love the techie side like many of the engineers I have come across. I want to be really good at what I do and have always been good with customer facing roles.

well consultancy would be more of what u want then. you meet the customers and do a little selling. to be honest doing sales only is not a very nice job. with consulting you do a bit of tech and a bit of sales
