I am crippled with a bad back and have noticed it has been getting gradually worse over recent months. Thinking of trying a firm, good quality mattress.

Any recommendations on where to go to buy one? Looking for a reputable place which has good offers available.

A friend of mine who has chronic back pain (from a construction accident) swears by the memory foam mattresses, I have googled them before and you should have no problem finding them.

There are loads of different sites, I have been told that the memory foam mattress toppers are pretty good too.

According to a huge amount of people on the Bargain Alerts forum, Big Mickey in Longford is the man to see.

He delivers all over the country. People have traveled from further than Donegal to buy from him according to that thread.

Restex in Buncrana have a very good selection of matresses, i'm sure you could find what you needed there. They also have an outlet at the mountain top beside Highland radio studios.

Got my latest mattress from www.beds.ie - they also offer to take your old mattress off you for €40

Find one you like, and see if you can get it cheaply on beds.ie :D

There is a place in the new riverside shopping centre that sells mattresses could be worth a look!

A wee tip Physiotherapist told me not to go to the expense of a new mattress but get a foam cut out that goes on top of your normal mattress she said it was a lot less expensive and better for you now I was fortunate that my mum had one she didn't use any more so I can't help you with where you would get one but I am sure if you do some digging you will find out
