Checking Baggage Through in South America

Hey just wondering if anybody knows if it's possible to check through baggage on internal flights within South America. Flying La Paz to BA via Santa Cruz but have a tight turnaround time for connecting flights. I'll book a longer stopover if it's not possible.

If booked as a connecting flight its fine. If not it depends on the airlines, their staff and if the airlines involved have interline agreements and a good working relationship.
