    Hi all ! :D

Just wondering does anybody know from commuting regularly the best way to commute from Santry to ITB.

I know the 17a goes to blanchardstown shopping centre, but getting the 17a is not exactly close to where I live.

Any other routes/public transport/private bus services that serve commuters from around this area?

    Any info would be great,

    Cheers !

Depending how long the walk is the 17a is your best bet, you'd miss out the annoying and fecking time consuming pointless detour through Beaumont Hospital and would only take like 20 minutes to and from college. Your better off getting off at the NAC too, it's roughly a 10 minute walk from there.

Other option is a bus into town and a 38/a/c out, but in the morning especially the 38 takes forever because of the traffic through Castleknock.

I think the Urbus goes by ALSAA too if that's any use.

That's great info Drodan thanks very much ! :D

Eh the closest 17a bus stop is most likely beaumont hosipital, the urbus could be of use but would have to get another bus to the ALSAA to get it !

Haha shame there's no other private bus services,

guess il be listening to the 17a driver sounding his "smoking is illegal on all dublin buses " to the bhoys down the back on a regular basis :pac:

If you could make it to ballymun you could get the 220 i think

You could well do actually but I heard a rumour that the 220 will be linked into the 17a service soon enough and gotten rid off, increasing the peak time of the 17a as they basically run the same route from Ballymun.

The 17a takes me pretty much an hour to get to college, and oddly enough 35 minutes to get home, and believe me it's SO much handier than getting a bus into town and a bus to college. Used to hate leaving the house at 7am and still be potentially late for a 9am lecture.

Would you consider getting a scooter?
Fantastic thing to have, no more relying on the bus and you can get anywhere or even into town in no time

Just what I'd do if I were a student again

I see you're getting a car in a few months, just something to think about
