evo3d finally

So I finally got myself the HTC evo3d.
First things first. I absolutely love it.
I came from the desire HD which I loved. First noticible difference is the evo3d has a rubber feel on its back cover. Obviously the two cameras and the dedicated camera button aswell. Other than that its basically the image of the dhd, looks wise.
It's plays games excellently. No lag from what i can see anyways. The only 3d games i played where spiderman and nfs. I must admit the 3d is done very well.
The 3d photos come out fairly well also. I'm not a photographer or anything so i don't know how good they actually are but as a Joe soap user, I think they turn out well. Father goes a bit fuzzy trying to look at them so that's not very good for some people.
The normal camera is a 5mp camera, quality seems fairly good. Don't seem to be much difference between dhd and this camera , I only took one or two though just for a gander.
Build quality of the phone seems excellent, I have a alluminium case on it anyways so its all good.
The dedicated camera button is great, seem to be able to hold phone better with using the button.
Front facing camera is 1mp afaik. Didn't use it yet at all so can't comment on it.
Had to unlock bootloader and plan on putting a custom Rom on over the next few days.
Overall opinion.
Extremely happy with purchase. Would definitely recommend it. Yes 3d is a gimmick but the rest of the phone is savage so you will be happy if you go for this phone.


woo I got the phone rooted and everything. Having a bit of a problem installing leedroid though, dont know whats up with it. ill try it again tomorrow as Im drinking now.

Cant share 3D photos via facebook or even mms either, must be some way to share them.

You got it from an Irish network or a third party shop !?

Do you have a 3D TV set ? Can you test the Quality of photo / video !?

What ROM you've got ? Any improvements on the multimedia aspects !?

Its not available properly in ireland so I bought it from an irish seller on ebay, it has the asia setup on it. (english language obviously)

I didnt change the rom on it yet, will put leedroid on it and get back to you.

I dont have a 3D video set sadly.
I didnt try any viedos at all on it yet as I only got it yesterday.
Have yogibear 3D downloading this second though to check it out hahaha.

I checked out the 3D pics and games on it and so far meself, me twin and one or two other can play/watch them grand, one or two of me mates nearly got sick trying to look at it, i presume it looks weird if your eyes dont adjust to it.

I tried taking screenshots of it when in 3D mode but since I have to shake phone to get the screenshot to work, they came out all odd.

hook it up to the computer and try copy the images off the phone then upload them.

Ah I see, it does the wiggle thing, well basically thats all it is on the phone except the phone can show the two pics at a time in one pic.

obviously you dont need to shake the phone like a looper.

I only got it a few days ago so I can't give a proper answer on the battery. Seems a bit better than dhd but as I said I haven't used it enough to get a proper opinion .

This is what i was holding out for to replace my Desire but i won an SGS2 a few months ago so wasn't too fussed then

Maybe once the wife lets me sell the child and we get a 3D tv i'll want one again

Got the mhl connection for it. Playing games on television is cool.

Changed rom to romeos3d. Not much different to stock rom to be honest but I likes it.
