Downloading PC Games From Game.co.uk?

Can you download PC games from Game.co.uk from Ireland? Has anyone done it? The games are way cheaper than on Steam. Also, if it does work, when the games download, they'll be saved on my laptop and not on a server like the way it is on Steam? That's what annoys me about Steam - if you've no internet connection you can't play.

Not certain about Game, but I am fairly sure most if not all of the UK download sites have no restrictions here. Direct2Drive.co.uk is another good place to source PC game downloads .

Not sure if Game offer unlimited re-downloads like Steam and D2D do, so do bear that in mind when buying from any site you haven't used before. On some retailers if you lose the downloaded files for any reasons your game is gone.

Also you can play steam games without an internet connection, when the client is started in offline mode. All of you Steam downloaded games are stored on you harddrive in the steamapps subfolder of the installation directory, so if you are worried about ever having to redownload all your your steam games in simply keep an up to date backup of this folder and you will never have to do so.
