A friend of mine has the following car:

    2006 BMW 2.5 Petrol

And his fuel pump has packed up.

Anyone know where to get one at a reasonable cost.

I have chassis, engine number etc. If needed.

You really need last 7 of chassis numberto determine engine fitted (which will determine type of pump)

The pump is not available separately and comes as a complete 'delivery unit' - BMW part number 16 14 6 766 150

These give VERY little trouble - are you sure it's faulty?!

The EKP controller is a more likely fault and it has probably blown that fuse...
New fuse is a (very) temporary fix.

    Kind Regards,
    Eddie.

If you are sure the pump is faulty like Eddie said, you can grab one from Otto. They sell original manufacturer without the BMW logo, but still the original brand that was fitted in the car for usually 30-50% cheaper that the dealer.

These later ones are complete assemblies (delivering 5Bar) for the returnless system.
Even the fuel filter I can't get aftermarket - I stock the BMW one. The early MINI used similar but you could get a Rover 75 one that was identical.
