    Hi Folks,
have an iphone 4 about 12-14 months now and the power button has become unresponsive today, it didn't take any fall damage or anything but it started getting harder and harder to press until now its not responding at all. anyone have any experience of this happening? i'm gonna have to get it fixed but probably gonna cost me if its outside warranty.

has anyone had any experience of any phone shops in dublin that might be able to fix it?

    thanks
    Mark

if it's jailbroken install activator and you can use the the volume up volume down combo to lock. If you need to turn it on you can just plug it in.

Give Apple a call. If it's closer to the 12 months then they might fix it for you even if it is out of warranty. No harm in trying. Happened to my gf (she was in warranty) and they fixed it quickly and she said it came back with new casing as her other had been scratched. It was the same phone they didn't replace it same serial etc.

Definitely check with apple if it's still covered under warranty, just had my iPhone swapped out for a dodgy lock button.

I'd say they will repair it, its only 20 days out. I've heard of them replacing stuff way out of warranty, they usually just replace with a refurbished phone so do a full backup before giving them the phone.

If not it would cost you €50

was researching it to see could i do it myself and found a temp solution, basically squeeze the case just to the top right of the screen just under the power button and then press it and it works. seems to have brought some life back into it :)

Weird, I didn't think squeezing would do anything on the iphone4 as the glass is so thick, reason this works on the 3g/s is because the bezel/screen usually lift in the corner.
Sounds like the power connector may be just pushed out
