Qualified Secondary - Teaching Language Support in Primary?

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience on this. I am a qualified secondary teacher. I hold a CELT qualification for teaching English but my teaching subjects do not include English. Would there be any point in me applying for Primary EAL / English Support positions in schools?

Are primary jobs the exclusive domain of qualified Primary teachers?

    Cheers

I'm not in the primary sector but I understand it's as bad as our own si there's probably lots of primary teachers applying. Having said that there's no harm in sending the application I suppose, you might get lucky for 58c!

With so many fully qualified primary teachers about, little enough chance,I'd say.
