Promethean still around in Ireland?

Are they still operating in Ireland?
I'm trying to locate a part for a Promethean board, namely a dc power cable (CB-5302027S42), but it seems to be a dead end.

The company that sold the boards to the school (Prim-Ed) say they no longer have anything to do with Promethean but gave me a number to ring. No joy there either. They only offer support over the phone and don't supply spares or do service callouts.

This article on the Anseo site from 2009 (http://www.anseo.net/2009/08/is-promethean-gone/) asks the same.
The new distributer announced in 2009 (Clarity) no longer exist.
Loads of sites in the UK list the part but nobody has it in stock.:(

Any info would be appreciated. Ta.

I must say I have found the same. I have no problem with Prim-ed no longer selling them but surely they took your money way back and should try to assist with your issues some way or another.

I presume the phone number you rang was some 1850 thing that brings you through to the UK. Quite useful for troubleshooting and so forth, but as you say, I don't think they know who their Irish agents are...based on my experience anyway.

Have you tried the Promethean forums? Some quite knowledgeable and helpful people over there. Is that a tricky part to replace if you don't know what you're doing? Does it come from behind/within the board or is it more freestanding? Searching for the part number you quoted seems to bring up a few sites, but as you say, availability of stock is an issue. The school I'm familiar with used a computer company, don't know how it sourced the parts, however.

Unfortunately Black Oil I'm the 'computer company'.:D I do maintenance in a few schools and usually steer clear of doing anything 'physical' with the iwb's, just configuration stuff.

With the situation as it is, I had little choice but to take the board down to find the problem. Straight forward enough. The faulty cable can be replaced handy enough without the board comming down again.

    Tis a royal pain.

Ah right. I've done some of that sort of work, though not really the removal of the board of things, just initial set up of the software, quick demo, etc. Hope you find a solution.

Saw a few on eBay for about 30 sterling.

Might be worth having a look there.

Found one on Ebay in the UK yesterday but he won't ship to Ireland.
I'll have another look now though. Ta

Edit: All I can find on Ebay is this lad http://cgi.ebay.ie/PROMETHEAN-Whiteboard-5m-DC-Power-Cable-CB-5302027S42-/110734655790?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item19c84cc12e and he won't ship to Ireland. :-(

Thanks stapeler. I contacted the top 2 already.
They sell the boards and supply replacement accessories and the like but cannot supply spare parts like cables, psu's etc.
I found a supplier in the UK but the robbin b*****ds want ~£60 for the lead and £25 sterling to deliver.:pac:

I'm waiting on the school to get back to me but I'll give Equinox a shout on Monday. Ta.

Try about computers in Waterford. The main agents for Promethean in Ireland since 2009.
