Anybody had any experience of south California?

Will be over there from Mid Sept for 10 days and hope to get a reasonable amount of surfing in. We'll be travelling from San Diego to Santa Barbara with only some nights booked so am flexible.

    Looking for mellow beach breaks.

Any feedback on any aspect of the surfing at all would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, get in early to get the glassy conditions and avoid crowds. The Channel Islands generally block most swell getting to Santa Barbara/Ventura so the further south you go the bigger it gets.

Also drive up Route 1, the coast road. You'll see every point and beach break So Cal has.
