Arcade Artwork

I acquired a DVD full of arcade artwork and was wondering what's the deal with sharing it with all you good folks?

Do we have rules against it here?

A lot of it is some decent resolution artwork you could get printed professionally for your cab if you wanted to (high res like 8000x7000 etc)

If it's allowed I'll sort out some sort of download link or links or some other way to make it easy to get.

    Mods???

    I don't think so.
It's one of those artwork DVD's you see around ebay every so often.

Will see what the mods say here and will post it in this thread if allowed.
    No PM's please.

If I cant share it here I'll post it in "another place".
But would like to have it here so more people can benefit from it.

I think we need either CiDeRmAn or LoGiE to approve it as they are the mods for this section.

I think that's how it works anyway.

Hopefully you get the go, it would be a great help to myself as I've just built a cab and I'm looking at getting some artwork for it :)

If I do get the go ahead how would people like to download it?

Direct download of the dvd (zip file or iso or something like that) or access to a folder with all the images so you can grab only what you want?

Id like to download the whole thing to be honest.

Yeah, an iso/zip/rar is going to be the easiest and quickest to get uploaded as I can just stick it on my fast server and stick a direct link in here.

4shared.com is good for hosting files, free too

Yeah, 4shared is decent. But if I'm sharing a big file I normally just stick it on my own server as it's usually faster to download from and bandwidth isn't an issue(usually).

I'm not familar with this type of DVD but If it's copyright material I'm afraid you can't post links. However alot of arcade game publishers have gone under over the years leaving cabinet art really hard to find. If you feel it can be put in the same bracket as abandonware then I have no problems with you posting a link.

Ok, I'm just sorting out an ISO file of this DVD(about 2.5GB).

I'll upload it to a fast server and stick a link to it here.
Now, this is going to be sitting on my web server so it wont be there forever.
I'll leave it up for a couple of weeks anyway so plenty of time to get it.

It has the artwork on the disc and also Photoshop and Illustrator to view and edit the images.
These are just trials so are not pirated etc. Everything on the disc is as I got it from ebay, I've not added or removed anything so the disc is still auto starting if you have that enabled.
I did a scan for viruses and found none but as always its a good idea to scan it yourself as well.

I'll post the link a little later on today.

I've not checked it all to be honest.
It has some pixel art and also some vector art that can be resized to whatever you like. You might find something.

Either way its good to have.

For those not familiar with vector artwork you can basically increase them to a theoretically unlimited resolution with no loss of quality, as long as you have lots of memory that is.

Fantastic for printing as you can imagine and if you take a vector file to a professional printers they will be very happy indeed as they can print it at whatever size you like and it will look just as good.

    A sample here(large 6mb image with a resolution of 9006x6992):

I just created it from the attached .ai Adobe Illustrator file.
