What's with the OTT amount of cookery shows on RTE !?
Just leafing through the TV guide and I noticed that every weekday evening this week RTE1 has a cookery show on (except for Thursday when it switches to RTE2).
Fairly pathetic programming it must be said and just one of the reasons I rarely watch terrestrial TV anymore

That reminds me, I've got to watch last night's Masterchef Ireland. Cheers, OP!

What's wrong with that? If there wasn't the audience for it they wouldn't be on.

    I watch them.

Watched a bit of Masterchef myself last night, nothing like one of them programmes to get you hungry for a snack before you head off to the cot! :P

Are ye any good? I buy the foodie mags as well. Looking forward to the colder weather so I can do my one pot wonders again. I make a deadly (posh version) of bread and butter pudding. There's something to be said for the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg in the house.

Or by snack do you mean toast? :D

    No I'm sheite :D

I don't really have time to be making stuff during the week cos I have football 3 weeknights a week, out all day Saturday so don't want to burn the kip down when I get back and Sunday I'm too fooked to make something from scratch.

You must cook for me some night ;)

By snack I mean yoghurt, mousse or a few biscuits......but if 'm feeling adventurous then it's toast :p....and jam :pac:

But for some reason I love cookery programmes, no idea why tbh, I'm just a weirdo

Its not at all weird! people that slate them have never really watched them. I have sky set to record just about everything about cookings :pac: One of the nights you're not off training or whatever, you should get the head together and cook a few dinners from scratch. Leave some in the fridge for soonish use, and freeze some for other days. A bad ass lasagne for one, a pie made of shepard's, maybe a haddock pie, that sort of thing. Though, there is stuff you can make in literally five minutes, and damn tasty too. I'm a fiend for pasta dishes. It's an excuse to have a bottle of wine beside me too :pac:

Theres something very pleasing about eating something you made yourself, and it's tasty as hell :)

    Self suck? :pac:

Better get the smoke alarm fixed before I try anything tbh  If you knew me you'd laugh at the thought of me cooking from scratch cos patience is not one of my strong points.....tho I do a mean hot chicken roll when I'm locked :D

Oh and you can't beat a good ould bowl of pasta to fill you up!

I'll be legging it home from football tonight to try get the end of Irish Masterchef :P
