    Why the yellow card?

He tried it and failed but you can't book someone for not being competent

Or have I missed some rule here?

What did he get booked for?

Shouldn't the penalty have been retaken seeing as there was several players in the penalty area before he made contact with the ball?

You are not allowed to feint a penalty kick like that. Paul Pogba got booked for similar vs Liverpool in the Youth Cup last season - think it was his second booking too. He was def sent off for two yellows but not 100% sure if the penalty feint was his first or second booking.

    What Mitch said.

You have to continue your run to the ball.

It's hilarious watching him slip! :D

Technically if he kicked it and was then somehow able to run between it and the goalie and shield the ball without touching it and it went in it should be allowed. However that would never be possible in real life.

I'd have the backheel penalty ahead of that one..

The Guardian is claiming it's the worst penalty ever...I can think of plenty of Rovers ones worse and Jason Byrne missing several crossbars laid on top of each other...which I would say is a worse attempt..

Did Cristiano Ronaldo not often stop mid run to throw off the 'keeper? He was never booked as best I can recall. The rule is you can only kick the ball forward once. If you touch the ball twice or more it's a yellow, I've never heard of people being booked for trying to throw off the 'keeper.

He never stopped, he slowed right down but never stopped. You aren't allowed stop once you start the run up.

As long as you still move forward, you can get away with a little hesitation in your run to the ball.
A couple of years ago they added that you had to keep going forward as there were players who stopped, had a sandwich, shaved their beard and then made their shot.

This guy kept moving forward. Falling flat on his coconut
