    Hi,
I think I made the classic mistake of, if it looks to good to be true it is to good to be true ! I bought a jacket from China and I think it was a con. They sent me the mails they even sent me the mails after I paid along with the tracking number to track my purchase but you got it when I go into EMS the nuber doesn't seem to work. I paid by credit card and I know it's doubt full that I'll get my money back but is there any chance this might still be sent to me or am I just fooling myself ?confused.gif

The thread has been moved to the Online Buying & Auctions forum.

First step is contact the company and ask them to confirm the tracking number. If that fails, tell them to refund your money. If they don't do that, then contact your bank and ask about a charge back.

If the price is too good to be true, then it is. There should be no doubt in your mind that this is either counterfeit goods, or a scam.

Thanks jor el, I've sent the mail to them but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if they reply because of time difference. I spoke to the bank and they told me that I have to wait 30 days first before they will persue it.

You might be right, I did get a mail back from the company telling me their not fake and that they will look into it just to give them a little time, so hopefully it will be sent by next week ! i don't mind it taking its time getting here as long as it does get here and is not a fictional buy !

Hi antocann, I had a mail from them this morning telling me that the goods were seized by customs and they can only refund 60% of my money so this is a scam !

Buying unbelievably cheap clothing from China is always going to be counterfeit. Counterfeit items can and often are seized by customs, either on entry here or even before leaving China. It doesn't mean it's a scam, it just means you were caught out while doing something illegal, and now you pay the price for that.

Buying counterfeit items is illegal, so your bank may not even investigate your charge back request, if you go down that route.

What you say is right, however these sites don't have a big sign saying come buy some counterfeit goods ! They tell you there the real thing and before you say you should check out the site completely before using it I'm sure the majority of people who buy on line don't do this as the majority of sites no one has a problem with.

You said yourself that the price was too cheap to believe, so therefore no one should believe it.

China and cheap = fake. Anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Your right jor el however amazon were selling the jackets at the same price just not in my size so I got roped into believing that maybe others were doing the same. More fool me !

Amazon, or a seller on Amazon Marketplace? This is one to watch out for, as you could be buying from someone that ships from China (or anywhere), and not from Amazon at all. Much like eBay, but generally less tat and knock off crap.

If they were the same price as genuine items on Amazon, then you were really conned for the knock off stuff. You should pursue the charge back option, but given that it was seized by customs as counterfeit, I'm not sure how far the bank will intervene.

Maybe take the 60% being offered, and try the bank for the remainder. If you don't, and the bank won't help, then you'll get nothing at all.

    Hi jor el,
The company that was to send me the jacket have claimed once again that the jacket is real but that the problem with customs is the export tax costs even more than the jacket and this is why they are holding the jacket which the company are refusing to pay, well this is what they are telling me ! The best they will give me back is 70% but they say that's it that their keeping the 30% for there own costs !

If you haven't already done so, I think you might be best to take the 70% and bite the bullet.

Already did, leason learned, knowing my luck if I had even got the jacket it probably wouldn't have fit !
